![]() Also for what it's worth, the only flier I used was Camilla, who I had been largely neglecting throughout the playthrough. I felt like it was challenging in a good way and I won by the skin of my teeth in about 12 turns IIRC. I actually beat this chapter on my first try, but it was by no means a pushover. ![]() However unlike say, Ch 11, you're still given a reason to rush because there's so many damn reinforcements and only a handful of DVs for you to use to hold them off. The whole point of the Dragon Veins (read: map gimmick) is to give you a chance to break apart the enemy numbers for a couple of turns so you can kill enough of them to not get overwhelmed. Technically Ch 24 is also a case of "both" but IMO it manages to do "both" right. Almost every other map is a numbers fest of too many strong enemies all bunched together thus making me throw Xander at them and/or turtle excessively in response, a map that places too much emphasis on the map gimmick, or both. Sunday's discussed map will be randomly selected from the maps not yet discussed.Ĭh 24 is possibly the only map in Conquest I had a genuinely FUN time playing. Was this map's unique mechanic executed well?Ĭould this map have been improved? If so, how? She drops a Speedwing on defeat.Īvailable items: Speedwing (drop - Hinoka) ![]() She carries a Silver Naginata on all difficulties, as well as a Bolt Naginata on hard and lunatic. Hinoka has the skills Sol and Winged Shield on all difficulties, as well as Luna and Darting Blow on hard and lunatic. Hinoka is the boss of this chapter, though she comes paired in a Guard Stance with an Oni Chieftain who provides her with +4 Str and Def. It should be noted that since Azama is carrying a weapon in this chapter, his personal skill Divine Retribution will not trigger. He comes with the skill Renewal (all difficulties), as well as Miracle and Counter (hard + lunatic). Azama carries a Steel Naginata, a Wane Festal, and a Hexing Rod. Setsuna carries a Silver Yumi, and has the skill Seal Strength (all difficulties), as well as Swordbreaker and Pass (hard + lunatic). Hinoka's boss space is located right on top of her own Dragon Vein, which has the opposite effect to those available to the player - they decrease the movement of land-based units and increase the (already high) movement of all flying units.Īzama and Setsuna appear as minibosses in this chapter. ![]() These effects last for two turns before wearing off however they can also be deactivated by Hinoka herself. ![]() When any of them are activated, the movement of land-based units is increased by half of their original movement while the movement of flying units is decreased by half of their original movement. The main mechanic of this chapter involves the various Dragon Veins scattered around the map. Each of these enemies comes with a single skill which varies between individual units. The other enemy types include Onmyoujis and Oni Chieftains. They will often spawn over water, meaning the player will struggle to deal with them right after they spawn, and they are also capable of flying over trees. Many of the enemies on this map are flying units, who will constantly appear as reinforcements throughout the chapter. This map features a battle against Hinokacopter's army of Pegasi in the Hoshidan royal garden. Corrin is distressed by Iago's cruelty but must still hurry to the throne room. Pre-chapter text: "The Nohrian army breaches the Hoshidan capital. ![]()
